The Sandcastle is a gracious Victorian house, built in 1847 by Sir Morton Peto, who brought the railway to Lowestoft, and then set about developing the town, harbour & sea-front. This Lowestoft guest house opened in 1997 and has a happy feel about it, with bright, light and airy rooms; each room individually decorated and furnished.
Our guest bedrooms have all been furnished in an attractive but practical manner, which makes it a very comfortable place to stay, especially for families. Every bedroom has a Sony television (with some being HD LCDs) together with a hostess tray, quality soft furnishings and bed linen, with all rooms enjoying en-suite or private facilities, together with centrally heated towel rails, & the latest in cloudburst power showers. All rooms also enjoy Wi-Fi. Food is always important on holiday and you will be fed on a delicious mix of French and English cuisine professionally cooked and always using the best quality ingredients. All the meat comes from local farms, the bacon is dry cured locally from free-range pigs, eggs from local farmers and kippers from the local smokehouse. Everything is cooked on an Aga and you will certainly not find supermarket meats at the Sandcastle. Children are very welcome but sadly it is entirely unsuitable for anyone needing a wheelchair - there are too many stairs. Small pets are allowed and there is a strict No-Smoking rule. |
