Bed and Breakfast Description

 

Riverside House - Bed and Breakfast is situated in Thorpe Culvert about two and half miles away from Wainfleet and about three miles away from Burgh-le Marsh. Thorpe Culvert is only a small village but is well serviced by pub/restuarants such as the Three Tuns which is just over the road from us and the Holly Tree, Queen Victoria and the Barkham Arms, all within a short walking distance along quiet country roads.

As well as the Steeping River there are local ponds stocked with course fish where anglers might like to try their skills, such as Swan Lake Leisure just over the road from us and Grooby's Pit just 10 minute walk away.

Riverside House is only 15 minutes away by car from Skegness if you want to have a day out or sample the night life. If you don't want to drive, then you can take the train from the little village train station in Thorpe Culvert which takes you there via Wainfleet-All-Saints.

When you have tired of all the sight seeing you might like to come back to our own gardens at Riverside House or take a stroll at your own leisure to one of the nearby inns and sample the local beer and quisine.

We Have a total of three letting rooms 1 Double Room (With Coffee and Tea making facilites and T.V.)and 2 Single Rooms (With Coffee and Tea making facilites and T.V.).

 

Skegness Attractions

 
We are well based for all country pursuits such as fishing as we are situated beside the Steeping River and close to local ponds, bird-watching, cycling and walking as the cycle path goes past our house and part of the Three Towns Walk incorporating Spilsby Wainflet and Burgh-le-Marsh is along the river-bank of the Steeping River behind our house. As well as other walks accessable locally. Horse riding is available locally. Skegness with its beach and various attractions such as Fantasy Island at Ingoldmels and various local markets, Hardy's Animal Farm, Anchor Lane, Ingoldmels, Skegness Stadium, Stock Car & Banger Racing, Natureland Seal Sanctury at Skegness, Church Farm Museum also at Skegness and The Parrot Zoo at Friskney Nr. Boston, to name but a few also there is our own Batemans Brewery & Visitors Centre at Wainfleet and the Magdelen Museum at Wainfleet.

When walking from Thorpe Culvert Station, will take approx. 3 mins. Turn left out of the station, keep left along Culvert Road, go upto the bridge and we are just over the bridge on the left.
By Car, leave the A52 between Boston and Skegness at the turning for Wainfleet-All-Saints. On entering Wainfleet go past the clock tower in the market square and take the B1195 out of Wainfleet onto Spilsby Road going past the Post Office on your right. Keep on this road until you get to Thorpe St Peter where you will pass the church on your right and facing the Queen Victoria Pub on the cross-roads junction. Take the left hand turning onto Station Road follow this road to the end where you will see Thorpe Culvert Station. Go over the station crossing keep bearing left and go upto the bridge. We are just over the bridge on the left hand side, and you will see our sign Riverside House - Bed and Breakfast.
