Bed and Breakfast Description

 

Moor View is a family run business situated in the unspoiled countryside of Dickleburgh. Only 6 miles from Diss and close to Bressingham in South Norfolk. The moor is only a few hundred metres from our property allowing excellent walks. All letting rooms are newly refurbished and have central heating, comfortable beds and armchairs. Our grounds are extensive and there is ample off road parking. As well as B&B we also offer camping and caravan space. We also have a well-established self-catering cottage. All of our rooms are covered by wireless Broadband so that you can stay in touch with business or friends, if you need to. Pets are welcome to stay with you at no extra charge and we offer kennel facilities should you wish to leave them for a few hours whilst you shop or visit a local attraction.

The spacious dining room is the ideal setting for unhurried meals. The kitchens are personally run by the proprietor who has earned a reputation for serving 'only the best' and believes good shopping is the key to good cooking. Much effort is put into obtaining prime produce such as Farmhouse Cheeses, locally grown vegetables, fresh fish, the best cuts of locally reared meat and non-intensively reared poultry. The style of cooking is modern English with a Mediterranean bias, even so, dinner usually ends with at least one good old-fashioned British pudding.

The house sits in the centre of 2 acres of grounds. Approximately 50 years ago the area was a successful smallholding supplying all the needs for a farm worker and his family. Since then the grounds gradually reverted to course grassland which we are now attempting to turn into a garden and orchard. The view from the back looks like smooth grass until you walk on it and it turns into mountains and troughs under foot.

 

Diss Attractions

 
For the individual or couple, Moor View offers a memorable place to stay in a secluded location plum in the middle of East Anglia. Norwich, a wonderful medieval city, is also East Anglia’s main shopping and entertainment centre. the Broads, the varied and beautiful North and East coasts, Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds and Cambridge are all within an hours drive, as are local attractions such as Bloom’s Garden and Steam Centre, the Otter Trust and Banham Zoo. We are 5 miles from the busy market town of Diss. Friday is market day and sales day at the famous Thomas William Gaze Auction Rooms (viewing on Thursday) selling every thing from an egg cup to fine antiques. Moor View may be peaceful and secluded, but is no great distance from the wider active world.

From the South:
From the A140, turn off at the Dickleburgh roundabout and pass through the village along Norwich Road. Turn right after approximately half a mile into Semere Green Lane (Pulham Road), just before the chevron road sign. (Skip down to North/South directions)

From the North:
As you approach Dickleburgh you will see a sign informing you of a dual carriageway 2 miles ahead. The junction for Norwich Road is immediately after this sign and can be identified by a yellow marker. Shortly after turning on to Norwich Road turn left into Semere Green Lane (Pulham Road).

Both North and South:
Moor View will be found on the right hand side after approximately quarter of a mile, just after Lonely Road. There is a sign to indicate the entrance to the driveway. Please proceed carefully down the drive and park up by the house.
