Bed and Breakfast Description

 

Driftwood Lodge Bed & Breakfast is a 1930's built, fully refurbished, centrally heated, detached house, which stands in it's own grounds with a large, private car park and a double garage for secure parking of guests motorcycles and push bikes. The car park is protected by CCTV, well lit and its double gates are always closed at night. The house is surrounded by pleasant, landscaped gardens with their ever changing colours.

We have three guest rooms, all located on the first floor. The single room has its own private bathroom facilities and the recently refurbished two double / twin rooms both have en-suite's fitted with modern shower, toilet and wash basins. Both en-suite rooms can accommodate familys consisting of two adults and either one or two children of 4 yrs and over. For our guests convenience all rooms have the benefit of wall mounted LCD remote control colour televisions with freeview, radio alarm clocks, hairdryers, steam irons & boards, tea / coffee making facilities, fresh towels & bath mats. For guests with a wireless enabled laptop computer at Driftwood Lodge we offer free wireless broadband allowing you to browse the internet, access email and work from the comfort of their room. All rooms have interlinked smoke alarms, 30 minute fire doors and all appliances are tested for electrical safety.

In the ground floor dining room, full English breakfast is served daily between 7.00am and 8.30am. (Evening meals can also be arranged with our many local comfortable pubs and restaurants) During the evening, there is a large colour TV, board games and books for the use and comfort of our guests. For the motoring enthusiasts amongst you there are large showcases of Ferrari models to enjoy. To comply with current UK laws Driftwood Lodge is a non-smoking house. Unfortunately pets are not allowed. John & Kate take pride in the cleanliness of the house and the standard of their good home cooking.

 

Norwich Attractions

 
Whether you're visiting Norwich on business or touring the city and it's surrounding countryside, you'll find some interesting and exciting attractions close by. In our entrance lobby you can browse through a selection of information leaflets, bus and train timetables and maps to find out more about the area. John & Kate have a good knowledge of the surrounding area and over the years have established many contacts with local companies allowing them to arrange cycle hire, boat trips on the broads, book your evening meals and order taxis for you if required (subject to availabilty).

Just to the right of the carpark entrance is a bus stop (No's 21 & 22) which can take you into the city center in only 10 minutes. Alternatively a two minute drive takes you to the Sprowston Park & Ride service for a hassile free, cost effective shopping experience. Norwich boasts an enviable selection of well known London high street names and fashions but not forgetting many of the small individual and unique shops tucked away in the Historic Arcades that make Norwich famous. A trip to the colourful city market is a must for any visitor. An excursion by train to London takes less than 2 hours, so a day trip to the capital is always easy. There are also river trips which start adjacent to the train station during summer and many special bus excursions available from the city too.
