Bed and Breakfast Description |
| |
|
Elderton Lodge nestles into its own six acres of naturally wooded grounds, beautifully aspected over looking on to 800 acres of Deer park. The 200 year old building, formally the shooting lodge to Gunton Hall is lovingly preserved by its local owners and run as a Country House Hotel offering 11 individual bedrooms and a delightful restaurant. The rooms have full modern facilities, while the restaurant offers high quality local produce. The Hotel is owned and run by Rachel and Pat, both natives of Norfolk. Along with their well trained team they try always to reflect the local hospitality and comforts that their regular visitors have come to expect. Elderton Lodge is equally suitable for corporate clients visiting the local area and especially amenable for short breaks or longer stays for visitors to Norfolk. The Restaurant enjoys a strong following of non-resident clients who appreciate the variety of seasonal and A La Carte menus all representing excellent value in quality and service.
Elderton Lodge offers eleven en-suite bedrooms, each individually decorated in traditional style, and luxuriously appointed to the highest standards. Every room is equipped with a television and DVD player, and an extensive library of DVDs is available free of charge for guests' use. In addition, all rooms are equipped with a direct-dial telephone, alarm clock, hair dryer, dressing gowns and complimentary tea and coffee-making facilities. The newly refurbished lounge and bar lovingly re-creates the atmosphere of a country house drawing room. Spacious, opulently furnished and comfortable, it is the ideal place to enjoy a drink before dinner and coffee and liqueurs after, or simply to pass a leisurely morning with the daily papers, while you watch the deer grazing in the park. |

Norwich Attractions |
| |
The Hotel is less than 5 miles from the North Norfolk coast line and is perfectly placed as a central point for visiting the whole of the North Norfolk attractions. It gives easy access to the many Broadland villages and their relevant water ways as well as being within easy reach of several National Trust properties such as Blickling Hall and Felbrigg Hall, the city of Norwich is just 17 miles from the hotel.
Named after the celebrated Victorian beauty and mistress of the Prince of Wales, Lillie Langtry, the restaurant continues to offer food fit for a king, in the intimate surroundings of the candle-lit dining room, or the elegant conservatory, where you can watch the summer sun set over the deer park as you dine. As it would have been in Gunton Hall's Victorian heyday, the emphasis is very much on fresh, locally sourced produce - fish, lobster, crab and mussels from the nearby coast, and game, in season, from the neighbouring estates, including, of course venison. We have an excellent restaurant menu to suit all tastes and our ever-popular seasonal menu at lunch time offers exceptional value, but without compromising the quality which has resulted in the award of two AA Rosettes. he Langtry also offers an excellent wine list, expertly selected to combine French classics with the best New World vintages...Or why not pop in for a coffee or light lunch, sink into one of our comfy sofas and relax by the log fire! |
