Bed and Breakfast Description |
| |
|
Welcome to Ducksdrift. We are seven miles north west of Fakenham and approximately six miles from the coast, nestled in the cosy village of South Creake, perfectly situated for both the rural and coastal life. We have two superb, light & bright, rooms here at Ducksdrift, ready and waiting for you! The first contains a very spacious king size divan and the second is twin bedded with beautiful views across the rooftops. Both are lavished with the finest Egyptian cottons for your weary head, following a day experiencing our local amenities. For your comfort there is tea and coffee provided in both bedrooms, along with television, clock radios and hairdryers. Shaver points are fitted in the ensuite bathrooms. They are tastefully furnished and perfect for you, whether you want a short break or an extended stay. We are sure you will agree that they are comfortable, warm and homely.
After a great night's sleep what better way to start the day than with a good breakfast. We have found the tastiest sausages and dry cured bacon at Ian's local farm and Kerrie's clucking hens provide us with golden yoked eggs, all freshly prepared then cooked on our much loved Aga for you to enjoy. Not are only are the cooked breakfasts sourced locally, we even make our own yoghurt to compliment the fresh fruit and cereals that are available all the time. Nearby Leatheringsett Watermill supplies the flour for our home baked crusty loaves and the jams and marmalades are homemade too. A hearty and satisfying way to start the day. We can cater for any special dietary requirements that you might have, just let us know when booking your room. Vegetarian, gluten free, vegan - no problem. Also, if you're off to take in the local sights and enjoy the amenities on offer, we can prepare a packed lunch for your journey and there are many local pubs supplying great evening meals! |

Fakenham Attractions |
| |
With close links to the Norfolk retreat of HM The Queen - Sandringham, Burnham Market and the stately home, Houghton Hall, we are surrounded by a wealth of culture. Admiral Lord Nelson was born and lived in the nearby village of Burnham Thorpe, and there are many other places of great historical significance in the vicinity. For those of you interested in wild life, North Norfolk contains several RSPB reserves a short drive away, with of course the seals off Blakeney Point. There's Walsingham with its National Anglican and Roman Catholic Shrines just a five miles drive. While those of you who enjoy Christmas shows what better than a visit to Thursford's Christmas Spectacular is a short car ride away. There's Fakenham race course, shopping at Burnham Market, the beautiful Georgian town of Holt, it just goes on and on...
There are often concerts, artistic events, horse trials and other such activities taking place nearby and wherever possible, we will make tickets available for you on request. Bird watching is a great pastime in the area and we can supply you with an expert guide to accompany you, should you be an enthusiast. |
