A visit to Byfords is about the whole experience. This is a family-run business offering fresh, local food that’s cooked on the premises. But it’s far more than simply a collection of delicious dishes. A visit to Byfords is also about the atmosphere. This intriguing building is steeped in history and provides a magical environment for all sorts of occasions, from a quick coffee or working lunch to a leisurely meal with friends. People of all ages and backgrounds come together at Byfords, and consequently there’s always a buzz. The food may be posh but it’s certainly not pretentious and the service is efficient yet informal. So how should you dress to eat here? Just go with the flow and wear what you like - simply relax and enjoy yourselves.
The first and second floors of Byfords are converted into Bed & Breakfast accommodation, offering the informality of a B&B but with the quality of an upmarket hotel – hence the label “Posh B&B”. There are 16 beautiful bedrooms in total, including a ground floor room suitable for disabled use and a family room with a separate twin room for the kids. The theme for the rooms is North Norfolk and we have used local, natural materials where possible – flint, exposed brickwork, oak floorboards, slate, leather, silk and linen, as well as dramatic photography of the beautiful landscape which fills the walls. Graded 5 stars plus a Gold Award for Excellence by the English Tourist Board, all bedrooms have a wealth of character and consist of a luxury bed, a separate comfortable seating area, a desk with telephone and modem points, a Bang & Olufsen TV, DVD and CD, plus en-suite facilities with dual bathing baths, power showers and underfloor heating. |
