Bed and Breakfast Description

 

Located in a quiet suburb area called Liberton we are only 10 minutes by local bus (the bus stop is only 10 metres from our door), to the centre of Edinburgh. If travelling by car we have free private parking.

We have 6 bedrooms within our detached guest house, all fitted with double glazing. Four of these rooms are on the 1st floor. Sorry, no lift but with only 15 steps its not too far to climb. The rooms to the rear of the house have some beautiful country views. Certain rooms can be let out as single occupancy (supplements apply, please contact us direct for these rates).

All our rooms have private en-suite bathrooms with showers and are stocked with soap and towels so no need to bring your own. For your comfort each of our rooms comes with TV, radio/alarm clock, hairdryer, comfy chairs and a welcoming tray with Tea&Coffee and some of our delicious Homemade shortbread. We also have a welcome booklet with some local information to help you around the area and tourist guides for places in and around Edinburgh.

We have WiFi Internet access available for those needing Email and Web connections.

You have your own front door key, so do not worry about coming in and out all day and night (just don't wake the neighbours if you come home late!!)

 

Edinburgh Attractions

 
Near by, we have some local tourist attractions such as Rossyln Chapel and Craigmillar Castle. Closer is the Edinburgh University, Kings Buildings campus and The Edinburgh Royal Observatory.

And of course, the city of Edinburgh... The Capital of Scotland a must on anyones list of places to visit. A place of History, Architecture, Castles and stunning scenery.
 

B&B Location
 
From Airport by car - Leave the Airport taking the A8 for Edinburgh, you will go for 2 miles until the Gogar roundabout. You need to get onto the A720 city bypass so look for the signs saying Edinburgh South & East. Stay on this road for about 6 miles and look out for the junction sign called Straiton. Take the Straiton junction and at the end of the slip road turn first left onto the A701 with signs for Edinburgh City Centre (South). Stay on this (A701) road for about 3 to 4 miles. You will go straight on through 2 main traffic lights controlled junctions signposts that will have Liberton listed. After the second of these junctions we are about half a mile further down on the left-hand side of the main road situated just after a right-hand curve in the road. We have a white signage display showing Brae Lodge Guest House name by the roadside. Free parking is off road in front of the house.

From Waverly Train Station - You should leave the train station via the Waverly Bridge exit. Turn right at the top and head for Princes Street. Cross at the traffic lights to the opposite side of Princes Street and turn to your left and walk to the first Lothian Regional Transport (LRT) bus stop (at the H&M department store entrance). Now see text opposite for local bus travel.

From Airport - Leave the Airport via the Airlink bus exit, take the Airlink bus on Stand 19 all the way to the terminus at the Waverly Bridge in the centre of Edinburgh. Get off the bus and cross to the other side of the street and go to Princes Street. Cross at the traffic lights to the opposite side of Princes Street and turn to your left and walk to the first Lothian Regional Transport (LRT) bus stop (at the H&M department store entrance) Now see text opposite for local bus travel
