Bed and Breakfast Description

 

Many of the period features remain in the house including its high ceilings and sweeping staircase. The three en-suite bedrooms are elegantly decorated with period pieces. The River Ure is on our doorstep providing an ideal location for countryside walks.

Our three bedrooms consist of: Deluxe Double Room/Family Room - Includes a King sized bed and en-suite shower room. This imposing room features an original fireplace, a Victorian washstand and views out onto the front garden; Large Double Room - Includes a King sized bed, a Victorian Duchess dressing table, views of Ripon cathedral and an en-suite shower room and Twin Room - Includes two single beds, views to the front of the house and an en-suite shower room.

Our light and airy dining room is the perfect setting in which to relax and enjoy your breakfast. Breakfast is usually served between 7.30 - 9am but we are happy to provide breakfast outside these hours with advance notice. Vegetarians are also catered for.

 

Ripon Attractions

 
Ripon is a thriving market town centred around its beautiful cathedral. A variety of shops, pubs, restaurants and businesses surround the market square including a Marks and Spencers Simply food store and a newly opened Sainsburys. Market Day is Thursday.

Ripon is steeped in tradition and every evening at 9pm the city’s Hornblower sets the watch by blowing his horn on all four corners of the market square. He then tells a brief history to those who have come to watch. Other local services include swimming baths, and several museums. There are regular bus services to Harrogate, Leeds and York.
