Bed and Breakfast Description

 

Heathfield s a small family run guest house with a warm friendly atmosphere and provides a full English breakfast (vegetarians are catered for). We offer Private off road Parking for our guests, Free Wi Fi access and a bus stop and Railway Station are nearby.

Heathfield's delightful bed and breakfast holiday accommodation comprises three double bedrooms, each with its own en-suite shower, washbasin, and toilet. A colour TV and DVD player is provided in each room (we have a selection of films), as well as a hospitality tray that is filled daily, and a hair dryer.

Whitby North Yorkshire is renowned for its fishing industry and harbour, and is situated in "Heart Beat" country made famous by the TV series. It has an excellent sandy beach, and you can walk along the Cleaveland Way to Robin Hoods Bay. There are many excellent restaurants, cafes, and fast food outlets nearby, and of course Whitby's fish and chips are World famous.

 

Whitby Attractions

 
The magnificent ruins of Whitby Abbey overlook the town. It has inspired generations from Saints to Dracula. The indoor History Gallery digs deeper into the Abbey's history with interactive "talking heads" of personalities from the past.

Whitby Abbey and St Marys Church. 199 steps leads you to the ruins of Whitby Abbey and Heritage Centre, and St Marys Church and graveyard where you can pause ay Caedmons Cross a Memorial to the earliest known English Poet.

Whalebones and Captain James Cook Monument. Situated on the West Cliff with beautiful views of the Eastside, Swing Bridge and Harbour.

Captain Cook Memorial Museum. Harbourside house to which Captain James Cook lodged as an apprentice on Grape Lane.

Whitby Museum and Pannet Park and Art Gallery. Whitby Museum has retained its tradional atmosphere. It displays a host of fascinating and curious exhibits reflecting Whitby's past, including Fossils and Whitby jet.

North Yorkshire Moors Railway. Experience the thrill of a steam train ride from Whitby, Grosmont, Goathland (Heartbeat TV Series) Levisham to Pickering.

Moors National Park Centre at Danby. Free Admission,Walks and Trails, Indoor/Outdoor area, Events and Exhibitions and Tea room and gift shop.

Dracula Experience. A tour through the Dracula story and his connections to Whtby. Ghost Walks thruogh the streets of Whitby.

Dalby Forest and Shire Horse Farm. Nature Trails, Walks, Activity centre, Go Ape and Cafe.

Walks and Cycling. The Cleveland Way, Coast to Coast and Lyke Wake Walk.
For cyclists. The old Railway Line to Scarborough is part of the national cycle network and for mountain bikers, numerous forest trails.
