Bed and Breakfast Description

 

Rounton House is 6 miles from Whitby, offering comfortable, spacious Bed & Breakfast accommodation for couples, families or single persons. Offering either en-suite or private bathroom, our rooms also have colour TV, DVD or VHS, tea & coffee making facilities and hair dryers. Off road parking on our drive is also available. Breakfast is served in our private dining room and vegetarian options are available, other dietary requirements on request. We offer all year round availability and operate a strict non smoking policy.

 

Whitby Attractions

 
Robin Hood's Bay is a picturesque and unspoilt fishing village situated on the beautiful North Yorkshire coast between Whitby and Scarborough. It is famed for its smuggling and seafaring history. In the old village narrow alleyways link the cottages and the whole area is full of charm and character. The beach has both sand and rocky pools and the surrounding moors offer great walks and some stunning views.

A friendly welcome awaits in the village pubs and hotels with weekly quiz nights, folk nights and guest bands. In summer there is an excellent local museum. Shops include a Post Office, bakery, fish shops (both fresh and fried), general stores, galleries, a drapery and good quality crafts and gifts. As for food, take your choice of cafes or tea rooms, hotels and pubs with bar meals or a-la-carte menus.

From Whitby take the A171 signed Scarborough and Robin Hood's Bay, take the left hand turn signed Hawsker and Robin Hood's Bay for approx 2.5 miles in to Robin Hood's Bay. You will see the Grosvenor Hotel as you reach the bottom of the hill, Mount Pleasant South is the next turn after the Grosvenor Hotel, Rounton House is the last house on the left.

From Scarborough, on the A171 take the right turn off signed Fylingthorpe and Robin Hood's Bay, go through Fylingthorpe Village, past the Fylingdales Inn and the Fire Station until you reach a 'T' Junction, turn left, Mount Pleasant South is approx 100 yards up on your right. Rounton House is the last house on your left.
