Bed and Breakfast Description

 

Rose Cottage is situated in the centre of Goathland Village. It is just minutes away from the Steam Railway Station, Scripps Garage, the local pubs and the village shops. It is a Grade II listed building with stone walls and beams throughout. It is over 180 years old and is an integral part of the village and the local history. It has its own large enclosed cottage style garden with ample parking for all guests.

We have 3 double rooms and one single. Each double room is en-suite with secondary access to the family en-suite for the single room if needed. There are Tea and Coffee making facilities in the rooms and a Television with Terrestrial channels. In the morning we offer cereals, tea, coffee, fruit juices etc as well as the traditional full English breakfast. As an alternative we also offer a vegetarian breakfast or if you have any requests we are always open to suggestions. Breakfast can be served anytime before 9.30am, we can confirm times when you arrive. We try wherever possible to use all local ingredients and suppliers.

 

Whitby Attractions

 
Goathland otherwise known as Aidensfield is the setting for the TV series Heartbeat. Just a short stroll away from the cottage you will see the Aidensfield Arms, Scripps Garage and other beloved sights from the series. Goathland station is only 5 minutes walk and is one of the stops on the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway line. It was also used as Hogsmeade station in Harry Potter. The line itself is 18 miles long and stretches from Pickering to Grosmont. Goathland Station is a step back in time with its period characteristics and many steam locomotives. This is a wonderful way to enjoy the sights of the North Yorkshire Moors.
