Bed and Breakfast Description
 

All our beautifully appointed rooms are en suite and have television, Tea and Coffee making facilities and hair dryers in addition to lovely views over the surrounding countryside. We are open all year round and with Central Heating throughout, you need never fear the cold Lancashire winters (or summers!). Set in the hamlet of Lower Greenbank, Greenbank Farmhouse offers a choice of beautifully appointed rooms - with equally beautiful views over the fells, greaves and gills from which the rooms take their name.

Damas Gill is our largest room and boasts a 'Loo with a view'! - looking, as it does, over the fields towards the Fells. The room takes its name from the river which has to be crossed to reach the Green Bank. Sparrow Gill overlooks our spacious front garden and takes its name from the river, which marks the boundary of the Abbeystead Estate. From the window of Catshaw Greave the visitor can see the Fell from which the room takes its name.

So having enjoyed a good night's sleep in rural tranquillity, you will be ready for our superb breakfast! We have our own hens, so you can be assured of truly fresh, free-range eggs. We buy our bacon and sausages from Condor Green Farm a locally based producer.

Lancashire is a county of contrasts from the loudness of Blackpool to the serenity of the Forest of Bowland. There really is something for everyone to enjoy. Here are our suggestions for great things to do in Lancashire:

Blackpool Seafront, Blackpool - Blackpool may not be to everyone’s tastes but with the tower, theme park, three piers and the illuminations in September and November, there certainly isn't a shortage of things to do.

Eric Morecambe Statue, Morecambe - Not many statues are worth taking a special trip to see but this one of the legendry funny man certainly is. It’s one of the best photo opportunities in the county - dancing with Eric Morecambe!

National Football Museum, Preston - A museum of football – a heaven for some people but a hell for others. The National Football Museum examines the history of the beautiful game and speculates as to what the future holds.

Leave M6 at junction 33, turn left onto A6, 200 yards on turn left signed 'Abbeystead, Trough of Bowland' Follow these signs past the 'Fleece Inn' then go through Dolphinholme and take the 2nd on the right at the 2 mini roundabouts. We are about 1/3 mile along the road at the top of a steep hill 3rd on the right.
