Lancaster Attractions

Lancaster Castle - owned by Her Majesty the Queen, who is the 'Duke of Lancaster'. As well as being a fortification the Castle is also one of Europe’s longest serving operational prisons.

The Priory - the 15thC Priory and Parish Church of Lancaster standing by the Castle on the hill overlooking the city is built on the site of a priory which was founded in 1094.

Williamson Park - situated on the site of a former quarry and open moorland. During the 1990s the acquisition of the area known as Fenham Carr means the park covers 54 acres.

Lancaster Canal - fishing is a popular pastime for users of the Lancaster Canal and it's not difficult to see why. The scenery surrounding our 55 mile stretch provides a perfect backdrop.
