Bed and Breakfast Description

We want our guests to experience the hotel in exactly the way they choose - if you want to stay and relax within our grounds, that’s fine by us, but for guests wanting to explore Shropshire’s special qualities and numerous attractions, the hotel provides the perfect base from which to explore. We’ll just be waiting for you with one of our award-winning meals when you return.

Our food is full of good ideas. Carefully selected local produce and home-grown vegetables and herbs plucked from our garden combine to make dining at The Old Rectory a special experience. We offer a choice of dining options – from light, informal lunches in our Orangery overlooking our stunning gardens to leisurely evening dining in the beauty of our dining room with its high ceilings, original sash windows and stunning furnishings. All you have to do is choose from our seasonal menus packed with enticing dishes.

Find yourself a spot to relax in our traditional English bar stocked with the very best range of beers, wines and spirits. We’ve also slipped in some special local beers from Wem-based award-winning brewer Hanby Ales to give you a true taste of Shropshire.

Forget the uniformity and box-shaped rooms of modern hotels, at The Old Rectory each of our 14 bedrooms have been individually styled to create warmth and comfort. Simply lie back and take in crisp linens, the rich fabrics and immerse yourself in the peace and tranquillity of your surroundings. Whether you’re with us to relax or you need to switch-off from a hard day’s work, it’ll be morning before you know it.
