Bed and Breakfast Description

 

Sandford House Hotel is located in Shrewsbury, close to the Severn with its fine riverside walks yet within a few minutes walk of the town centre. It is a small warm and friendly family hotel, smoke free and informal, our aim is to provide a homely tasteful environment with high standards in food and cleanliness.

We have a total of 18 Ensuite Bedrooms and have attained both AA and Visit Britain 4 Star ratings. Each bedroom has tea and coffee making facilities, color television, alarm clock and hair dryer. Every room is en-suite with a shower and a few have full sized baths.

Four rooms in our Garden Lodge are ground floor with ramped access suitable for wheelchair users.

Children are welcome and we offer family rooms. Well behaved pets welcome. Wireless Internet Access is available. Sandford House Hotel is non smoking.

The old market town has a good deal to offer, a wealth of half timbered Tudor buildings, magnificent Georgian houses, a splendid river, beautiful gardens and narrow winding streets. There is lots to see in Shrewsbury including several museums, the castle and the famous Abbey. Organised daily tours (in summer) are available with official guides to explain the history of the town.

Shopping in Shrewsbury is well served. As well as most of the big multiples there are antiques and secondhand bookshops, boutiques, a craft market and Victorian Arcade; most of them in narrow side streets and passageways. We also have one of the best wine merchants in the country.

We have a multi-screen cinema, a theatre, nightlife clubs and discos as well as quiet restaurants and pubs full of character.
