Bed and Breakfast Description

 

The Cross Keys is a Georgian grade II listed building situated in the delightful village of Llanymynech which straddles the border of Shropshire, England and Powys, Wales. Independently run a warm and friendly welcome awaits all guests.

The building has 7 bedrooms perfect for accommodating couples, families, singles and groups of friends or colleagues. The bedrooms are decorated in a comfortable British style. Each room is equipped with a TV and tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast is either full English or continental.

The Cross Keys serves traditional British food in both the Restaurant and the Bar, with an emphasis on free range, fresh, local and seasonal produce. The bar is an ideal meeting place for guests and local residents. There is a selection of British ales (including local real ale from Stonehouse Brewery) and continental largers. The food is traditional homemade meals such as: Steak & Ale Pie, Cod & Cross Keys Chips, Shepherds pie and Shropshire Fidget Pie.

The village of Llanymynech is surrounded by beautiful Shropshire countryside and Welsh hills. The Offas Dyke walk runs straight through the village. In easy distance is Lake Vyrnwy and the Montgomery Canal. Lovers of the outdoors and breath-taking scenery will not be disappointed. Other Places of interest include Llanymynech Rocks Nature Reserve, The historic town of Shrewsbury - 18 miles, The historic town of Oswestry - 6 miles, Powis Castle, National Trust - 10 miles, Chirk Castle, National Trust - 14 miles, Attingham Park, National Trust - 22 miles, The World Heritage site at Ironbridge - 35 miles and Lake Vyrnwy - 20 miles.
