Bed and Breakfast Description

 

Matthew, Melissa and family will give you a warm welcome with complimentary refreshments on your arrival. The Blackbirds establishment aims to please and, wherever possible, special needs will be catered for. The Blackbirds is a friendly, family run establishment which welcomes all for a relaxing break in Lincolnshire.

The Blackbirds was built in the 1750's as an ale house with overnight accommodation for farmers driving their livestock to Lincoln Market now just a family home. The Guest accommodation is in former farm workers cottages adjacent to the main house. The Guest accommodation has it's own garden.

The Blackbirds offers guests ground floor, non-smoking, en-suite accommodation which comprises of 1 Family/Twin, 2 Double and 3 single rooms. All rooms are individually designed and include TV's and refreshment facilities. With the benefit of a private garden, which is an abundance of flowers and butterflies in the summer with the promise of a ripening harvest of fruit from the orchard trees in the autumn.

The Blackbirds also has the benefit of a small restaurant serving local country dishes. The restaurant is available to guests every night. Private parties or functions are catered for with themed events a speciality. The Blackbirds is a member of "Tastes of Lincolnshire" and wherever possible we use local ingredients and prepare home cooked dishes. Breakfast is served all morning to suit our guests and if the weather is pleasant, this can be enjoyed on the terrace and in the evenings guests can relax by the open - air fire with a glass of wine or locally produced ale.

 

Lincoln Attractions

 
The cathedral dominates the Lincoln skyline and dates back to 1072. Lincoln has many interesting and historical buildings, cobbled streets and shops. A look around the Cathedral and Castle are also a worthwhile experience. The east coast offers many attractions for a day trip, with the likes of Skegness and Mablethorpe only an hours drive away.

Lincolnshire has some fantastic golf courses, all surrounding the Blackbirds. Whether its the woodland beauty of Market Rasen, or the Links style of Seacroft, the area has them all.

The well established Market Rasen race course is only 8 miles from the Blackbirds. It offers National hunt racing, with many weekday and weekend meetings throughout the year. So whether your an enthusiast or fancy something different, Market Rasen Races offers a great day out.

Te Blackbirds Nest is a small gift shop selling carefully chosen products, many made in Lincolnshire. Handmade feather or foam filled cushions made from French and English vintage materials. Nostalgic items to add warmth and comfort to your home.
