Bed and Breakfast Description |
| |
|
With its very comfortable accommodation, ample secure off-street parking, wireless internet access and excellent village pub food just a 75 yards stroll, Gorse House is ideal for business or leisure whether for one night or a week's relaxation. Situated in the small, quiet conservation village of Grimston close to Melton Mowbray, it is conveniently located for the university towns of Leicester, Nottingham and Loughborough and for East Midlands Airport for those happy to travel a small distance for some true country peace.
Gorse House is light and airy throughout and furnished with antiques and good paintings. The two in-house bedrooms have their own staircase. The principle bedroom has a double and single as standard is large enough to house a round Victorian table for those wanting to do some paperwork during their stay and a further single bed if required. The other is a double. Both of these bedrooms have pleasant outlooks, one over open fields and the other over the small formal garden in which guests can relax. The third twin/double room, situated off the garden, is ground floor and suitable for guests with limited mobility. With bath and walk-in shower it has the additional facilities of a fridge, microwave and sink and a small room off, with a single bed, making this a good family room. In this room we are happy to accept dogs. All bedrooms are en-suite and have tea & coffee making facilities, TV and hairdrier.
A comfortable sitting room is available for guest use. Breakfast takes place round the single large dining table, which many guests say they would like to take home. We offer a wide choice of breakfast with butcher's sausages and other local produce and fruit from the garden in season. The timing is flexible, catering both for those needing to get up and away early and for those wishing to have a more leisurely start to the day. |

Melton Mowbray Attractions |
| |
Grimston is an unspoilt village with a 13C church, some lovely local walks and rides and an excellent family run village pub 'The Black Horse Inn', providing delicious lunches and evening meals. Other nearby villages boast further fine pubs and restaurants. Set close to the junction of Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire, Grimston provides an excellent centre from which to explore and enjoy the lovely and varying countryside of 'Hidden England' from Rutland Water in the south, the Vale of Belvoir on the doorstep and Sherwood Forest to the north.
Our nearest town Melton Mowbray, seven miles to the southeast, apart from being famous for its Pork Pies and the locally produced Stilton “the king of cheeses”, is a true market town with its livestock auction (Tuesdays), street and farmers markets and also the fine St. Mary's Church (1170) the stateliest parish church in the county, where Sir Malcolm Sergeant was once organist. Whatever your interests there is plenty to capture your imagination within close reach. |
