Bed and Breakfast Description

Dingley Lodge was built by Viscount Lord Downe in 1888 for his farm manager. When we first looked at it late in 1982, the house had been empty for a number of years and was semi-derelict. Naively we turned our backs on the crumbling building and fell in love with the views. What was to be a five-year project has kept us busy ever since. All bedrooms are comfortable and well-equipped having "en-suite" shower/w.c., colour television, free wireless internet access and tea/coffee making facilities. Single, double and twin-bedded rooms are available, with a "family room" which can, with the addition of a folded bed, take up to four people.

Dingley Lodge offers more than just accommodation and our facilities are suitable for various different types of function. We have a licensed bar, a lounge and a dining room, all of which can all be made available for your exclusive use. We also offer these same facilities for meetings and 'away days'. Outdoors we have a superb cloistered terrace and guests are welcome to stroll round the grounds and meet the animals.

Meals are wholesome and freshly prepared with the finest ingredients. Guests are offered a traditional English breakfast and each evening the table d'hote menu is varied according to guests' tastes. Dingley Lodge is first and foremost our home and we're delighted to be able to open it for others to share. We find that most people appreciate this opportunity and many of our customers become regulars. They do much of our advertising for us and and we have an established reputation for good food and personal service.
