Bed and Breakfast Description

 

Relax in the comforts of our spacious 19th century stone farmhouse, which offers tasteful decor, elegant dining room, with a log fire, a large sun lounge, exceptionally large bathroom and extensive gardens. Bedrooms are very tastefully decorated and most have spectacular views of the valley including Seaton Viaduct. All rooms have tea and coffee making facilities and a television.

Start the day with Sue's extensive farmhouse breakfast served in the sun lounge. Your choice includes fresh fruits, homemade preserves and a continental or full English breakfast. We have a wealth of exceptional eating-places in the area, whilst the small village of Seaton boasts an excellent local pub representing very good value. Or walk the footpath leading to Lyddington where you will find excellent pub food.

 

Uppingham Attractions

 
We are situated in an idyllic rural setting, with views of Welland Valley and Seaton Viaduct. Being close to Rutland Water, Stamford and Oakham, it is an ideal location for walking or sightseeing. There are many activities available locally, including golf with a range of courses to suit the serious and casual golfer. There are also several riding schools in the vicinity allowing rides around the countryside. Alternatively, we can provide stabling on the farm if you wish to bring your own horse. There are also a variety of sports and events at Rutland Water, the largest man made reservoir in the country and just 6 miles from Grange Farm. Its various tourist attractions include fishing. Cycling (25 mile track around reservoir), birdwatching centre, golf course, butterfly and aquatic centre, sailing, surfboarding, cruising on the Rutland Belle and Normanton Church Museum.

Our nearest town is Uppingham (2 miles), a small market town well known for its school.Oakham (8 miles) a quaint market town with an old market place, a buttercross, stocks, castle and museum. Stamford is steeped in history. The old streets are predominantly Georgian and earlier. All have excellent unique shops. Rockingham Speedway, the purpose built motor sport complex with a banked oval circuit and indoor and outdoor karting tracks is located 5 miles from Seaton.

You will find Grange Farm on the Uppingham side of Seaton, at the end of Grange Lane.

From A1 North
Travelling south past Stamford, take the A43 towards Kettering and Corby at the 1st round about take the 3rd exit onto A47 towards Leicester. At Morcott turn left onto B672 towards Seaton. Two miles turn right, drive through Seaton, then turn left down Grange Lane.

From A1 South
Turn off A1 at Wansford on A47 towards Leicester. At Morcott, turn left onto B672 and follow as above.

From A14 (M6 and M1)
Turn off at junction 7 towards Kettering. Take 1st exit at round about (A43) towards Corby. Take 1st exit at the next round about (A6003) towards Oakham. Follow road to Caldecott village, in village turn right towards Morcott. Follow road for 2 miles then turn left to Seaton. Turn left at fork and T-junction in Seaton, through village, and turn left down Grange Lane.

From Uppingham A47 Round About
Head towards Uppingham, turn left at traffic lights, at roundabout, turn right towards Seaton follow road for 2 miles into Seaton. Grange Lane is on the right at the beginning of the village.
