Barrowden Attractions |
| |
Barrowden is a charming and quintessentially English village, the green, chestnut trees, the pub, the pond and the church all grouped around its heart. The pub sells well known real ales along with its own prize-winning beer brewed on the premises. Rutland is an area of outstanding beauty. with honey coloured stone villages, ancient churches, small lanes, beautiful woods and fields, attractive market towns. It remains relatively unknown and unspoilt, part of “ hidden England”.
Nearby - the pretty villages of Harringworth (longest Victorian viaduct in Britain), Wakerley, Morcott, Duddington, and the Luffenhams. Local activities include riding, cycling, golfing, walking, and on Rutland Water (largest man-made lake in Europe, with a great bird reserve at Egleton, scene of the Annual International Bird fair) there is fishing, sailing, wind surfing, birdwatching and angling. |

B&B Location
|
| |
Getting to us is easy (famous last words!)
From the A1 take the A47 towards Leicester. Carry straight on over the Duddington roundabout, up the hill, and left at the top. As you come into the village outskirts, turn sharp right at the crossroads up Wakerley Road. Our drive is about 50 yards past the village hall on the right hand side. If you are coming from Leicester, take the third road signposted to Barrowden, and do the same.
From the A14 take the A43 to Duddington, turn left at the roundabout onto the A47 and follow the instructions above. If lost, just ask for the High House. Most people in the village know us and will be able to direct you.
