Bed and Breakfast Description

Home Farm hosts a traditional, comfortable and quality bed and breakfast in the heart of Rutland. Home Farm is still a working farm, which has been farmed by the family since 1913. The farm currently produces quality beef cattle and a variety of arable crops on its 650 acres of surrounding land.

Home Farm Bed and Breakfast has two available bedrooms, sleeping a maximum of five guests. One bedroom is a twin, and the other is a double. Both bedrooms are airy, spacious and above all relaxing. Each bedroom is equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, television and hair dryer. Private or Shared Bathroom available. The bathroom is large, spacious and is equipped with a bath & shower.

All guests are invited to relax on the big comfy sofas situated in the farmhouse sitting room. The sitting room also has sky television and a wood burner to make you feel snug on those cold winter nights. During the summer months, guests can relax in the courtyard adjacent to the house. The summer house is also available to use by prior arrangement.

The yard adjacent to the farmhouse provides ample off road parking for all bed & breakfast guests. Stabling facilities are also available for those guests who wish to bring their own horse.

Ayston Attractions

Rutland Water offers some of the best fishing in the region if not the UK, and is a true haven for anglers. Trout in the reservoir can grow up to an amazing 15 pounds and huge pike lurk beneath the water, just waiting to be caught. The reservoir not only attracts leisure anglers but also plays host to some top level competitions, attracting discerning anglers from far and wide.

There are five excellent courses to play in Rutland, some situated with breathtaking views over Rutland Water, and each with their own golfing challenges. Greetham Valley Hotel, Golf & Conference Centre features two 18-hole and one 9-hole course as well as fully equipped Clubhouse, pro-shop and driving range. Rutland County Golf Course is conveniently situated near the A1, and offers an 18-hole course and challenging par-3 course; Luffenham Heath Golf Club has an 18-hole course with pro shop and Clubhouse; North Luffenham Golf Club is a small, friendly Club suiting all abilities; Rutland Water Golf Course, situated in Edith Weston, has a driving range, 9-hole par-3 course and main 18-hole course.

Rutland is the perfect place for walking, and has long attracted ramblers, who enjoy finding their way around the tiny villages, little known tracks and country lanes. Several books have been published detailing walks around the county.
