Bed and Breakfast Description

 

Park Cottage was built before 1826.
It was originally constructed as two separate traditional Essex Board farm workers' cottages. In the 1960s it was converted into a single cottage. Since then we have extensively renovated it and, in the last ten years, added a rear extension. We have 2 double rooms available. With a comfortable sofa, two arm chairs and a wood burning to stove to complement the central heating in the guests lounge (Not to mention the usual television and DVD!), you can be assured that you will relax at Park Cottage. Board games also available. We enjoy our large garden, which looks over open fields.

 

Colchester Attractions

 
Within five miles of Essex University, Dedham, (Constable country), Manningtree (where there is a secret cold war bunker), Colchester and Beth Chattos Garden. Green Island Gardens (open to the public) are directly across the road from us.
 

B&B Location
 
From the A133 at Colchester: take the A137 to Manningtree and Ardleigh. Turn right at the next mini roundabout along Bromley Road. Park Cottage is two miles further, the 4th house on the right after the A120 bridge.

Find us in a car from the A12: take the A120 eastbound to Harwich for 6 miles. Turn right at the Little Bentley sign to Gt. Bromley. After 1 mile turn right at the cross roads. Take B1029 to Gt Bromley. Drive 3 miles through village. Turn left at Cross Inn into Colchester Road. Park Cottage is 1 mile on the left opposite Park Road.

Find us in a car from Harwich A120: 2 miles after Horsely Cross water tower. Turn left into Gt. Bromley. After 1 mile turn right at the cross roads. Take B1029 to Gt Bromley. Drive 3 miles through village. Turn left at Cross Inn into Colchester Road. Park Cottage is 1 mile on the left opposite Park Road.
