Bed and Breakfast Description

 

The James family offers warm hospitality in tranquil surroundings. Long-term bookings are welcome - please ask about our discounts for extended stays. Wi-Fi access to broadband internet is available to our guests at no extra charge. We have the following rooms available: a double room on the ground floor, with en-suite bathroom, desk and comfortable chairs, a colour TV and DVD player and a twin room on the first floor, with two single beds. This room also has en-suite bathroom and colour TV.

 

Colchester Attractions

 
Pescara House is next to Crouch Street independent shops and restaurants, the Mercury Theatre, the historic Balkerne Gate and Hilly Fields nature reserve.
 

B&B Location
 
Colchester lies 54 miles east of London, just 47 minutes by train from Liverpool Street station. Alternatively you can take the A12 road. To the north it links with Ipswich and the A14 route to Birmingham and via the M1/M6 to the Midlands and the north of England. It is just 45 minutes from London's third airport at Stansted, and 30 minutes from the major east coast port of Harwich International.

Once you are in Colchester, to get to us by road take the Crouch Street exit from the Lexden Road roundabout. Turn right into Rawstorn Road and left into Manor Road.

From Colchester North (the main railway station) on foot, go up North Station Road towards the town. After crossing the river, turn right alongside the ancient Roman wall and left up Balkerne Hill. Cross over the footbridge into Popes Lane. Turn left into Rawstorn Road and right into Manor Road.

From the town centre, walk west up the high street, cross the road and continue down Balkerne Passage. Past Jumbo the Victorian water tower, and through the Roman Balkerne Gate where you will see the footbridge leading to Popes Lane.
