Historically the Hope and Anchor provided welcome hospitality for weary fishermen and sailors returning from the sea and the place retains a strong nautical theme with the famous 'Lady of the Sea' figurehead adorning the front of the building. Nowadays the Hope and Anchor is refurbished to the highest of standards and has two bars, a 50 cover restaurant, seven en suite letting rooms. There is ample car parking in the adjoining car park.
There are 7 letting rooms including a large family suite. All the rooms are en suite including television, radio alarm, iron & board, hair dryer). Room service is available until 11pm.
The Charter House resturant gets it name from the many charts and maps of the Pembrokeshire coast found throughout the building.
You will not find a pub grub menu with a better variety than at the Hope and Anchor. All our food is home cooked from local produce sourced within a 10 mile radius including locally caught fish and reared meats. We also cater for vegetarians.
We have a range of continetal largers and traditional welsh ales, a wide range of fine wines, which have been selected by our Wine merchant. Italian coffees percolated from our traditional coffee machine.
The balcony and windows offer a majestic view over the famous Fishguard harbour.
Sir Fred Bramble is the resident chef, together with our suppliers he selects the finest quality ingredients for our dishes, all of our produce is cafefully selected, from local producers, ranging from Locally caught fish to Pant Mawr cheeses and home rared meats even our Bread is homemade! |
