Edinburgh Attractions |
| |
Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland, is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the United Kingdom. Many of its attractions are famous throughout the UK and indeed the world, including Edinburgh Castle, the Palace of Holyrood, the Royal Mile, the Old Town and New Town, and the Edinburgh Festival and Fringe. UK and overseas visitors come summer and winter to use Edinburgh's guesthouse accommodation as a base for these and other attractions, such as the many golf courses of Edinburgh and Scotland, the nearby Rosslyn Chapel (made famous by Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code) and Edinburgh's many museums, historic locations, pubs, bars, restaurants and other leisure facilities.
Edinburgh is also one of the great centres for business, finance, education, administration and politics in Great Britain. The University is one of the oldest and most respected in the UK, Edinburgh is the largest financial centre after London (based around the Exchange district and Edinburgh International Conference Centre), business and the local economy are booming and the new Scottish Parliament adds one more reason to visit Edinburgh. Whether you're a tourist, in Scotland on business, an academic or student or have family at one of Edinburgh's universities, we can offer ideal guesthouse accommodation to suit. |

B&B Location
|
| |
Kenvie Guest House, situated in a quiet residential area, about 1 mile (1.5km) from the City centre and the Old Town, and takes about 10 minutes by bus (excellent service) and about 20 minutes to walk. The bus stop is just a short block away.
All directions to Edinburgh will cross the City Bypass (A720 ) on the edge of the city. When you see the signs for this road, follow them in the direction for Edinburgh South. You should then exit the Bypass at the Sheriffhall Roundabout, following the signs for the City Centre (A7 North) - also signposted Royal Infirmary and Old Town. After aprox. 6km (4 miles) you will find another roundabout, next to Cameron Toll shopping centre (a dark glass modern building with a red neon strip around it at night). Follow the roundabout under a railway bridge and take the next left onto Dalkieth Road, this is still the Old Town and A7. After 1/2 km (500 yards) you will pass a row of shops on your left. Opposite the last shop (a hairdresser), you should turn right into Kilmaurs Terrace, and you will find Kilmaurs Road at the top. Turn left and the Kenvie is on the left. Alternatively, if you miss Kilmaurs Terrace, continue a short distance to the traffic lights, turn right into Priestfield Road, and right again for Kilmaurs Road.
