Bed and Breakfast Description

 

Situated in the unspoilt village of Takeley and only 10 minutes drive from Stansted Airport, this secluded Bed and Breakfast is complemented by the surrounding rural settings. Your hosts Jan & Ron are pleased to invite you into their warm and friendly home. Whether you are looking for a relaxing break in this beautiful part of England or simply need to be near the conveniently located Stansted Airport (2 miles) without the noise we are sure you will enjoy your stay with us.

The English Room is delightfully bright and airy and offers comfortable twin beds and an en-suite bathroom with a full bath and power shower. The room also includes bedside lighting, a spacious wardrobe and as in all our rooms tea and coffee making facilities and colour television are provided. The French Room provides our guests with a double wrought Iron bed in a spacious room with ample wardrobe space for clothing. En-suite facilites includes a toilet and sink with a beautiful walk in shower cubicle all enclosed within an offset room. Again tea and coffee making facilities and colour television are available to our guests. The Oriental Room is made up of 4 separate areas for sleeping and relaxing and personal hygiene and offers our guests a comfortable spacious double bed. With an additional area allocated for dressing the usual en-suite facilities are available in the form of a sink, toilet and bath in a room all of its own. As with all our rooms tea and coffee making facilities along with colour television are available to our guests.

 

Stansted Attractions

 
We are ideally located for exploring the Northern edge of Essex with the pretty villages of Thaxted and Fitchingfield. Stansted mountfitchet castle and Audley End House are only a few miles away.
 

B&B Location
 
Leaving the M11 at junction 8, follow the B1256 Eastbound, signposted Takeley. Follow the B1256 for 4 miles where you will reach a cross roads with a public house called the 'Four Ashes' on your left-hand side. Continue straight over the crossroads then take your first left signposted Bambers Green onto Smith Green. A short way down the lane on the right-hand side is a turning onto Jacks Lane. Follow this lane 300 yards to the end taking care of local wildlife where you will find Oak Lodge.
