Bed and Breakfast Description

 

A lovely Victorian House built in 1880.

Take Breakfast in our charming dining room originally a Victorian Grocer's Shop. Special diets by arrangement. Continental Breakfasts are included in the room rate, and a Full English Breakfast is available for just a £5/person supplement.

The Bedrooms are very well appointed, all with en suite facilities, tea and coffee trays, full central heating, colour television and alarm clocks. Irons, hairdryers, help with luggage and early morning calls are available on request.

Your hosts Chris and Louise aim to make your stay as pleasant and comfortable as possible, and are always ready with advice and help on restaurants and excursions to the many places of interest in Bath and the surrounding areas.

Secure off street parking available in our walled courtyard.

Devonshire House is approximately 15 minutes walk from the city centre.

Bath is an ideal centre for trips to the Cotswolds, Wiltshire, Somerset and South Wales; Cardiff being only about 1 hour away.

The museums in Bath and beyond take you on a trip through time. There's such an exceptional choice that we can only highlight a handful - the world famous Roman Baths, the Fashion Museum ('400 years of fashion'), Jane Austen Centre (a shrine to the city's most famous resident), Number 1 Royal Crescent (an immaculate 18th-century townhouse), the Building of Bath Museum ('see the city grow') and Sally Lunn's Refreshment House and Museum (the oldest house in Bath).

For lovers of art there's the Holburne Museum of Art and refurbished Victoria Art Gallery,as well as the fascinating Bath Aqua Theatre of Glass where you can watch hand made glass works of art being created before your very eyes.

Beyond Bath step back to the days of ancient Britons with a walk around the Standing Stones of Stanton Drew, a day trip to Stonehenge, or a stroll around medieval Farleigh Hungerford Castle.

The choice of night-time entertainment in Bath is forever increasing with a mix of pubs, bars and clubs, an exciting theatre and film culture, as well as a vibrant live music and comedy scene.

To get to our B&B, head out of bath southbound on the A367 for about 3 kilometres. Turn left at the roundabout onto Sulis Manor Road and then left again onto Wellsway Park and we are on the left again.
