Bed and Breakfast Description

 

The Crown Inn offers comfortable B & B accommodation at reasonable rates. The earliest mention of the Inn was as The Black Lyon in 1638 when Henry Townsend was the landlord. In 1790 Joseph Spittle changed the name to the Crown Inn. William VI while in residence at the Royal Pavilion entertained at the Crown. We have 8 guest rooms, 6 with en-suite. The Family room, which sleeps up to 4 adults, features a four-poster bed. En-suite rooms have either shower/wc or shower/wc and bath. All rooms have tea and coffee making facilities, and a selection of Sky T V channels. Well behaved Children and dogs are allowed. We also give discounts for contract workers or long stay.

 

Lewes Attractions

 
Lewes is the ideal touring base for the beautiful surrounding countryside and coastline, including attractions such as Glyndebourne, the South Downs, Plumpton Races. The city of Brighton and hove is about 8 miles away, with frequent bus and train services. The town of Lewes is dominated by the ruins of a Norman castle, and many more attractions.
