Bexhill-on-Sea Attractions

The De La Warr Pavilion reopned in October 2005 as a national centre for contemporary arts. It is one of the most significant spaces in the emerging network of new arts venues in the south east of England as well as a place for entertainment, education, refreshment and relaxation for the community of Bexhill and beyond. Located in Bexhill-on-Sea's picturesque Old Town are many fine examples of Georgian architecture. The buildings in Bexhill Old Town contain many of historical interest including St Peter's Church which dates back to Saxon times. Take a trip around the picturesque Manor Gardens, with wonderfully colourful plants and flowers. For historians, the ruins and remains of the Manor House can be seen, originally built in the 13th Century. It's a great place to enjoy some peace and quiet, in beautiful surroundings. The Bexhill Museum of Costume and Social History, previously located in the Old Town, is currently being moved to become part of the new Bexhill Museum, due to open in May 2009.

Located just to the West of Bexhill town centre, Egerton park has many attractions on offer that appeal to young and old alike. If you need to get away from the hustle and bustle of life, the park can offer the peace, solace and relaxation required. Or, if you are feeling more adventurous, you can try out any of the attractions on offer. The boating lake, tennis courts, putting green and indoor bowling centre offer the perfect way to while away those hours. Children will love the adventure playground. Egerton park is surrounded in beauty with some lovely displays of bedding plants and that great feeling of freedom that only nature can bring. The Motoring Heritage Centre is featured at the Sackville on De-La-Warr Parade. The centre features photos and historical information on the original 1902 to 1904 races, and highlights Bexhill's place in history as the birthplace of British motor racing.
