Welcome to Balkissock Lodge B&B. We are a 4 star AA-rated Country Guest House , situated in the hills behind Ballantrae, located in an acre of garden and woodland. Balkissock Lodge was built in 1832 as a shooting lodge to serve the Laggan Estate. Balkissock Lodge nestles in a hilly region three and a half miles from the small fishing village of Ballantrae on the South Ayrshire coast.

We would like to make you comfortable in one of our three en-suite bedrooms which have a range of facilities including colour TV, radio alarm clock, hairdryer and hospitality tray. Drying facilities are available and there is ample private parking. Breakfast is served in the large conservatory that overlooks the garden. You can relax on cold winter evenings next to a log fire in the lounge or watch the wildlife from the comfort of the conservatory.

On the fells around Balkissock roam red deer, red squirrels and birds of prey such as buzzards and barn owls. There is a variety of garden birds such as blue tits, robins and chaffinches to watch and a hedgehog that can be seen wandering across the lawn on most evenings. With views from around the property towards Ailsa Craig, the Isle of Arran and the Mull of Kintyre, and on a clear day to the Northern Irish coastline, to one side and the Galloway Forest to the other, Balkissock Lodge is an ideal location for a relaxing break.

ballantrae Attractions

Golf courses at Turnberry and Troon, coarse and river fishing and walking and cycling in the Galloway Forest& Dark Sky as well as tourist attractions such as Culzean Castle, Castle Kennedy Gardens and the Logan Botanic Gardens keep our guests occupied during their stay. We are less than an hours' drive from the ferry ports of Stranraer and Cairnryan that have daily crossings to Northern Ireland.
