This comfortable ‘bed and breakfast’ is situated between the hills and Loch Pooltiel, with lovely views over Glendale, the sea loch and out to the Western Isles. Eagles and buzzards soar and song birds swoop. Glendale supports wild flowers, amazing bright mosses and lichens among wonderful wetland plants growing in the salty rock margins at the loch side. Seals, whales, dolphins and basking sharks can sometimes be seen in the waters from Neist Point Lighthouse while otter and stoat play shyly in the shadows. The peace, nature and beauty here come entirely free. For a comfortable bed and a good feed Six Willows is the place to be.
There are 2 comfortable family bedrooms. The Blue Room, a family or double room with a double and single bed and a view over Glendale, the hills of ‘MacLeod's Tables’ and Loch Pooltiel. A cot is available. The Red Room is also a family or double room with a double and single bed, a view over a 18C croft ruins, cliffs and the sunset. Private bath or shower room. Our food is all vegetarian and includes homemade pancakes and potato scones, warm bread, fresh berries, fruit salad, bio yoghurts, cheeses and homemade preserves. Local and organic produce is sourced where possible. Chef cooked, mouth watering, vegetarian evening meals can be booked. Please phone ahead if you would like a 2/3 course meatfree meal awaiting your arrival.
We can offer treatment sessions in the following, most afternoons, booking essential: Therapeutic and Aromatherapy Massage, Reflexology (to energise the system), Acupressure (to remove the blockages) & Holographic Repatterning (to heal negative patterns).
There is a daily 30 minuted meditation before breakfast.

Locally you will also find horse riding, walking, climbing, bird watching, fossil collecting, canoeing, diving, abseiling, wild life photography. The Toy Museum, Dunvegan Castle, Dunvegan seal boats, Neist Point Lighthouse, Galleries, Crofting Museums and fine dining at ‘Three Chimney's Restaurant’ Colbost, or restaurants in Glendale and Dunvegan. Skye Festival in July includes music, concerts, cheilidhs, gaelic theatre, world music, film and children’s events. You will want to stay longer. |

Glendale is situated in the north-west of Skye, approximately a 75 minute drive from the Skye bridge and Kyle. Follow the A850 north towards Portree. At Sligachan turn left onto the A863 to Dunvegan just before Dunvegan, turn left to Glendale. Continue for 8 miles, over the ridge of hills and down into Glendale. Turn right into Glasphein/ Ferinquarrie. Continue until T junction, turn left and ‘Six Willows’ is the first house on the left. Parking is at the side of the house. A warm welcome awaits you here.
When planning your trip the drive to Skye from Glasgow is about 6 hours, from Edinburgh about 7 hours, from Inverness about 3 hours, public transport exist from all these places but the buses around Skye itself are few.
