David and Angela Wood welcome you to Grantown-on-Spey in the beautiful Highlands of Scotland and the elegant yet homely Garden Park Guest House. Built in 1863, we are only a couple of minutes away from the High Street with its attractive range of family owned shops and eating places. Now part of the Cairngorms National Park.
The six well appointed rooms are individually furnished and maintained to a high standard offering a flexible range of accommodation to suit all. They are all ensuite four poster, king-size, double, and twin bedded rooms (one on the ground floor) which have a shower or bath or both. Rooms can be let for single occupancy. Good quality beds ensure a comfortable nights rest and all rooms are centrally heated and have electrically heated under blankets. Each room also has a complimentary beverage tray and gorgeous Scottish Fine Soap toiletries, colour television and hairdryer. We have been recognised for our hospitality by being awarded the Host award for excellent hospitality.
Our traditional Scottish breakfast is freshly cooked, by David, using locally sourced produce. Vegetarians and other special detiary needs can be catered for with a little notice. Served between 8.00am-9.00am includes a choice of fresh juices, a range of cereals, porridge, yogurts, bananas and fruit salad / grapefruit, or ask for Scottish Porridge from the kitchen. Grantown on Spey Attractions |
| |
Grantown-on-Spey, founded in the 18th century, is the historical capital of Strathspey nestling in the heart of the Scottish Highlands. Few areas in Scotland provide the year round tourist attraction and sporting opportunities that can be found in the Spey Valley and Cairngorm Mountain area, making Grantown the ideal base for exploring the area. In March 25th 2003 the Cairngorms National Park, the largest National Park in the UK (3800sqm) was established by the Scottish Parliament extending from Grantown-on- Spey down through the Cairngorm Mountains. This will develop the natural and cultural heritage of our area even further for the enjoyment of tourists and locals alike. Scotland is the best place to get back to nature with red deer, otters, dolphins, golden eagles, osprey and pine martens.
For the sports enthusiasts, activities include fishing for salmon and trout, golf on one of seven local courses at affordable prices, tennis, bowling, horse riding, pony trekking, bird watching, skiing, snow boarding and hill and forest walking in the Cairngorms and Cromdale Mountains. Welcome For all these activities there is secure storage and drying facilities plus packed lunches and flask refills. For the less energetic the Cairngorm Mountain Funicular Railway with spectacular views from the brand new Ptarmigan Station with restaurant and shop. We are also the closest guest house to the Speyside way walk. |
