Situated on a 65 acre working croft, The Anchorage B&B offers the perfect opportunity for guests who wish to relax in the peace of the countryside. Yet we are just a short 20 minute drive from the island's capital, Portree. And we're well placed for visiting Dunvegan Castle, the coral beaches, Neist Point Lighthouse, Talisker Distillery and all of North Skye. The house faces west and overlooks Loch Bracadale and the Ose river estuary towards the unique mountains known as MacLeod’s Tables. Sunsets are often spectacular. Most of our bedrooms have this view. The shore is immediately accessible from the house. The estuary is the home territory of herons, ducks, oyster catchers and seals. It has recently become the summer home of a flock of geese. If you are lucky, you may see the local otters in the river mouth. Unwind in this peaceful crofting setting. Awake to the sound of seabirds, watch seals playing in the loch or sunbathing on the rocks at low tide, or spot the heron fishing at sunset.
We have 2 double bedrooms with en-suite shower and 1 twin room with private bathroom. All bedrooms include, TV, radio alarm clock, hair dryer, tea/coffee making facilities & central heating. We also have a large comfortable residents lounge with TV and DVD player. All beds have feather and down duvets (kingsize duvets on the double bed). We can replace these with blankets for anyone with allergies. We offer welcome tea or coffee with home baking in the lounge on arrival. Breakfast is served in the dining room. Choices include a traditional cooked breakfast, kippers, smoked haddock, or Continenal style (with croissant, fresh fruit and yoghurt). We have a stock of tourist literature to enhance your visit to Skye including 'The Anchorage Book of Walks' complete with directions from the house (we can copy pages for you so you can take them with you). We have also produced some laminated Car Tours with suggested stopping places and maps. |
