The Clan Walker guesthouse is one of the best value bed & breakfasts Edinburgh has with a 4 Star Scottish Tourist Board rating. A family run business, centrally located with some private parking, all rooms are En-Suite. The Clan Walker is close to all amenities and attractions, a full delicious Scottish breakfast and continental breakfast is included.
We are situated only around 1 mile from Edinburgh Castle. Our location is the Newington area on the South Side of the city and not far from the busy and famous Royal Mile. Close at hand are numerous attractions, good restaurants and the Festival theatre, Queens Hall / Kings Hall as well as the Edinburgh University Pollock Halls of Residence and The Royal Commonwealth Swimming Pool and The Royal College of Surgeons. We have great views of Arthur's Seat and Holyrood Park from the rooms at the front of our house. |

We are in a superb location, just a short 5 minute walk from The Royal Commonwealth Swimming Pool and Edinburgh University's Pollock Halls of residence, also within easy walking distance from Holyrood Palace with the new Queens Gallery and its neighbouring New Scottish Parliament Building and Dynamic Earth, at the bottom of the Royal Mile, this stretches up to Edinburgh Castle at the top of The Royal Mile, which hosts the very popular Edinburgh Military Tattoo show every August during the Festival. Also just 5 minutes walk away, for those of you who enjoy fantastic views over the city, we have Holyrood park and Arthurs Seat.

BY CAR: From West: M8, A8, take A720 City Bypass South to Sheriff Hall Roundabout, exit A7 (past new Royal Infirmary Hospital) City Centre to Cameron Toll Roundabout and follow signs for the “old Town” going round under bridge, and first left onto Dalkeith Road (A7) carry on uphill and the Clan Walker Guest House is situated on Left Hand side. From Edinburgh City Centre as follows: via M8 (City Bypass North) ,M9, A8, M90 follow signs for City Centre then Corstorphine, Haymarket, Lothian Road, Meadows, Dalkeith Road (Commonwealth Pool) and Clan Walker Guest House is situated about .5 mile down hill on Right Hand Side.
From East: M1/A1 - follow signs for Forth Bridge / Airport to SheriffHall Roundabout, take exit A7 City Centre to Cameron Toll roundabout and head for “old Town” follow round under railway bridge, then first left onto Dalkeith Road (A7) for approx 1 mile and Clan Walker Guest House is situated on Left Hand Side. Alternatively stay on A1 (bypass signs for Forth Bridge) and take for City Centre / Leith to exit sign posted Craigmiller/Musselburgh (Fort Kinnaird Shopping Centre can be seen from road just before exit) At roundabout, left, over roundabout, and stay on main road through shopping centre to Cameron Toll Roundabout; go right around roundabout (4th exit) onto Dalkeith Road (A7) and Clan Walker Guest House is aprox 1 mile up hill on Left Hand Side.
BY AIR: The airport (located to west of city) is about a 25 minute taxi journey and will cost approximately £20.
BY BUS: Number 2 from the Grassmarket or the 30 every 12 minutes or the 30, 33, 86 every 10 minutes from Princes Street (Lothian Regional Transport Bus) or the number 14 bus from Leith Street runs every 15 minutes.
BY TRAIN: Waverley Train Station is closer to the Clan Walker Guest House out of the two train stations in Edinburgh, Haymarket being a little further away. From Waverley there is a taxi rank within the train station.
