Bristol Attractions

Bristol

Very much an ancient as well as modern city, Bristol was between 1373 and 1974 a county in its own right. Here in 1552 was founded the Society of Merchant Venturers who were largely instrumental in laying the prosperous foundations of the British Empire. It was from Bristol that John Cabot set sail in 1497 to discover Newfoundland and North America.

Bristol is an interesting and distinguished city and hosts an outstanding programme of events through the year including the Harbour Regatta and the world famous International Balloon Festival. Visitors can see a play at the historic Theatre Royal , watch a West End musical at the Hippodrome and listen to the best in music at the Colston Hall. Bristol also boasts an enormous range of shops. From the historic St Nicholas market through to the the specialist shopping of Clifton.

B&B Location

From M4 J18

Leave the M4 at Junction 18 and take the A46 North towards Stroud. Once on the A46 take the FIRST turning on the left. This road is the B4465 and it is only approximately 150YDS from Junction 18. Follow this winding country road for 5 miles until you pass on your left, a sign for "MURCO". (Note: Do not turn off to Westerleigh or Pucklechurch at the Westerleigh/Pucklechurch crossroads - go straight on). The turning for the farm is a few hundred yards further on from the MURCO sign, on the right hand side directly after the Henfield road sign. The lane is signposted "Box Hedge Farm Lane" and there is also a B&B sign. Keep going for half a mile taking a sharp left hand bend at the top of the lane.

From M4 J19

At Junction 19 go South for the M32 to Bristol. Keep on the inside lane and come off at Junction one of the M32, signposted for the A4174. You are now approximately five miles from Box Hedge Farm.
At roundabout one on the above map go left following signs for the A4174. Go straight through the traffic lights to the second roundabout. At the second roundabout filter left at the traffic lights staying on the A4174.
At roundabouts three, four and five follow the signs for Westerleigh. After roundabout five with The Folly pub on your left you will pass over the M4.

At the Crossroads for Henfield and Coalpit Heath go straight on. A few hundred yards down the hill turn left just before the B&B sign into Box Hedge Farm Lane. Keep going for half a mile taking a sharp left hand bend at the top of the lane.
