Bed and Breakfast Description
 

The Old Shooting Lodge is a privately run and recently refurbished guest house with comfortable furnishings throughout which was formally part of the Pitfour Estate, home to Major James Ferguson. Situated in a tranquil rural setting in the heart of the Buchan countryside set in mature grounds with an adjoining paddock and stables. We are just half a mile from the Aden Country Park where you can walk the nature trail or visit the farming museum.

Our facilities include - Full en-suite facilities, Breakfast included (available in your room upon request), Radio & Hairdryer in your room, Tea and coffee making facilities in your room, Wi-Fi internet connection available. Iron & Ironing Board available.

Relax in our residents lounge with open log fire, comfortable furnishings & television. Guests study with selection of books, board games and computer with internet access. Open access to the grounds including 2 acre paddock with views over Aden Country Park.

Extensive parking available.

Ample secure storage for residents bicycles, golf clubs etc.

Well behaved dogs welcome by prior arrangement.

Peterhead Attractions
 
Situated 30 miles North of Aberdeen, Scotlands third largest City, we are conveniently situated for visitors wishing to explore the North East region of Scotland and Royal Deeside. Being just 10 miles from the coast you can visit some of Britains most important fishing harbours. We are close to the famous Whisky Trail and within close proximity to many fine golf courses. From your base here in Aberdeenshire you can take a trip across to the beautiful Cairngorm National Park or visit Balmoral Castle in Royal Deeside. There are many other fine country houses and castles close by, many managed by The National Trust Scotland and Historic Scotland to visit throughout Aberdeenshire, being part of the Castle Trail.
 

B&B Location
 
We are situated off the A950 New Pitsligo Road between Mintlaw and New Pitsligo. From the village of Mintlaw, continue on the A950 passing the Aden Country Park on your left. Continue ahead for approximately 1/2 mile, passing the turning for the Village of Old Deer. Just ahead on your right, turn right in to the grounds of the Saplinbrae House Hotel.

Follow the driveway ahead past the hotel on your left, the driveway then bears to the left at the rear of the hotel, with our private gate leading you into the grounds of The Old Shooting Lodge

From Aberdeen and Aberdeen Airport take the A90 North as signposted to Fraserburgh and Peterhead. At the Toll of Birness bear left onto the A952 signposted Fraserburgh. Continue for approximately 9 miles and upon entering Mintlaw at the roundabout take the 1st exit onto the A950 New Pitsligo Road and then follow directions as above.

From Fraserburgh head South on a A952 for approximately 12 miles to Mintlaw village centre and at the roundabout take the third exit onto A950 signposted New Pitsligo. Then follow directions as above.

From Peterhead head East on the A950 for apprximately 9 miles bringing you to Mintlaw village centre and at the roundabout take the second exit being a continuation of the A950 signposted New Pitsligo. Then follow directions as above.
