Bed and Breakfast Description

 

Overlooking the Stour Valley, country living awaits walkers, cyclists, families and business people wanting a quiet place to stay.

The bedrooms are equipped with TV, books and magazines and there is a snug for resident's use, outside dining times with satellite TV, DVD and video. The breakfast menu has house specials and is made with our own produce or locally sourced. Outside is a children's play area and stables available by prior arrangement.

Walkers are able to enjoy miles of footpaths in this designated 'special landscape area'. The old world charm of Long Melford and Clare is just 10 minutes drive and Cavendish is less than 1.5 miles away.

We have linked to a nearby Atlantic Health and Spa in Cavendish to offer you the SPA BREAKS to include your accommodation and glorious breakfast before setting off to the Spa. You can have full use of their facilites, a light lunch and then up to 2 hours treatments. (For MOTHERS DAY ALL THIS FOR £99 per person). For the next day....

we are ideally situated to explore the Stour Valley and Constable Country.

WITHIN 5 MILES
Cavendish - Splendid Church and thatched cottages. It has stong Sue Ryder links. Within walking distance, it has 2 pubs serving food.

Clare - Medieval wool town with Ancient House, Castle Country Park and Priory. It has several restaurants and pubs.

Long Melford - Another wool town. Famous for longest high street in England full of antique shops and boutiques. Trinity Church has 180 ft nave and over 100 windows. Kentwell Hall & National Trust Melford Hall are both open to the public.

Sudbury - The birthplace of painter, Thomas Gainsborough, this is a larger town with Launch trips along the River Stour and the Quay Theatre.

WITHIN 10 MILES
Lavenham leading in to Constable Country - officially has over 300 buildings of historically and architechural interest including the Guildhall.

Liverpool St to Marks Tey and change for Sudbury. Every 30 minutes peak times.
By Car:
Take the A1092 from Long Melford to Clare.
In Cavendish, turn left signposted to Pentlow, then your first left up the hill to the T junction and turn left.
This is Pentlow village.
Our drive is situated by the red telephone box
