Bed and Breakfast Description

 

In the scenic western part of the Isle of Skye, Marsco offers bed and breakfast accommodation in three rooms.

All accommodation is on the first floor of the B&B and each bedroom has extensive views to either Loch Harport or the Cuillin Mountains.

Every bedroom is equipped with a colour television with satellite channels, DVD player along with a selection of DVDs, hairdryer, and tea or coffee making facilities.

There are two bathrooms available for guests' use. The first floor bathroom has a full sized bath, and shower facilities. The ground floor bathroom is fitted with a luxurious shower.

 

Carbost Attractions

 
In this picturesque location in the western part of Skye you can enjoy peace, tranquillity and most importantly, relaxation.

Our bed and breakfast accommodation is situated on the road to the world famous Talisker Whisky Distillery, in the small village of Carbost.

Marsco B&B is surrounded by some of the Isle of Skye's most magnificent scenery - the towering peaks of the magnificent Cuillin Mountains are clearly visible, and there are views over the loch towards the McLeod's Tables in the north west.

We have stunning views over Loch Harport, with its abundance of wildlife. We keep a log of all our sightings and regularly spot - otters, seals, buzzards, oystercatchers, goldfinches, herons and many more from our bedroom and lounge windows.

We have also been lucky enough to watch dolphins and porpoise playing below us, and see the magnificent White-tailed Sea Eagles and majestic Golden Eagles that nest close by!

Walk through our garden gate and wander down to the shore of the loch - here, the brave at heart can swim, the less brave fish, and the faint hearted sit and while away some time, absorbing the natural beauty of the surroundings.

Only a 10 minute drive from Glenbrittle or Sligachan, Marsco is the ideal base from which to explore the beautiful coastal paths and hill walks that the Isle of Skye has to offer, and hill walking or rock climbing in the Cuillins is an experience not to be missed!

From Kyle of Lochalsh and the Skye Bridge:

Cross Skye bridge, turn right at roundabout towards Broadford
Stay on the A87 for 16 miles to Sligachan Hotel
Turn left onto A863 towards Dunvegan
Travel 5 miles to the Minginish junction
Turn left onto B8009 for Carbost ...
... Following the signs for the Talisker Distillery
After 1.5 miles you will see the sign for Marsco B&B on right. We are the 4th house on the right as you go up the hill. If you reach the Glen Brittle turning on your left you have gone 150m too far!
From the Mallaig - Armadale Ferry:

Travel along A851 towards Broadford
Turn left onto A87 and continue as above
From Dunvegan [North Skye]:

Follow the A863 towards Sligachan
After 19 miles turn right following the signs for Carbost and the Talisker Distillery
Then as above
From Portree:

Take the A87 towards Broadford and the Skye Bridge
After 9 miles turn right at the Sligachan Hotel
Then as above

Nearest Restaurant/Bistro: The Sligachan Hotel  (6  Miles)

Nearest Public House/Bar: The Old Inn  (20  Minutes Walk)
