Welcome To The Chines Hotel

Shannon & Steve pride themselves on offering a warm & friendly welcome to all their guests and giving personal attention.

We have been touched by the positive feedback we have had from our guests & realise that above all what matters most is offering a homely, clean & friendly place to stay. We may not always get things right so please feel free to tell us what you like & what you think could be improved upon.

What's included with your room - complimentary toiletries, Hospitality tray (coffee, tea, sugar & biscuits) with kettle, Fridges (subject to availibility), Colour TV in all rooms, Digital TV tuners in some, Wireless Internet Access, Breakfast served daily between 8:30am - 9:30am. We cater for vegetarians & also offer a variety of fruit teas, caffeine free beverages & soya milk.

With relaxation in mind, we are pleased to offer the additional facility of an indoor heated swimming pool which is open daily for hotel guests from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. We have now installed a small changing room.

We are fortunate to have a lovely peaceful garden which backs onto the woodland & treetops of Alum Chine. We also have a large decked area where guests can sit & relax.

Alum Chine Attractions

 
The Chines is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac backing onto the woodland of Alum Chine. A ten minute stroll down the wooded path of the nearby Chine brings you to the sandy beaches of Alum Chine & offers picturesque views of the Isle of Wight, Old Harry Rocks & the Purbecks.

The land train runs from Alum Chine to Bournemouth & Boscombe & can be accessed at the foot of the chine.

The award winning beaches of Bournemouth offer provisions for disabled visitors incluidng beach wheelchairs for ease of access onto the beaches.

Deck chairs, sun beds, windbreaks and parasols are available for hire ensuring you enjoy the day in comfort.

For the more adventurous Boscombe beach will has an artificial surfing reef.

Dorset is a beautiful county with :

* Picturesque villages
* Stunning coastlines

Not far from Bournemouth lies the enchanting New Forest where you can view the ponies & wildlife which have the freedom to roam & enjoy the amenities of the forest. Picturesque villages: Lyndhurst, Brockenhurst & Burley which offers cream teas, a host of interesting shops & bicycle hire. Slightly further afield are Beaulieu - famous for the motor museum & Bucklers Yard.

Directions By Car from the M27 (Southampton)
1. Follow the M27 & A31
2. Remain on the A31
3. After passing Ringwood look for signs to Bournemouth
4. Take the first exit off the roundabout onto the A338
5. Follow the A338 all the way into Bournemouth
6. At the ASDA roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the Wessex Way
7. Continue straight across at the first & second roundabouts
8. The road will merge into one lane at this point
9. Stay in the left lane following signs to Westbourne & Branksome Chine
10.Look for signs to County Gates Gyratory
11.Take the 2nd exit off the Gyratory onto the Avenue
12. Continue along the avenue until you come to a set of traffic lights
13. At the lights take the first left onto Western Road
14. Follow the road round until you come to a small roundabout
15. At the roundabout take the 3rd exit onto Alumhurst Road
16. Follow Alumhurst Road
17. Take the 3rd turning on the left onto Rosemount Road
18. Follow the road and halfway down you will see The Chines Hotel on the left
Congratulations you have reached your destination!

From the Train Station
If travelling by train the Chines Hotel is about five minutes away from Branksome Station & ten minutes from Bournemouth station by car. By prior arrangement we will happily make arrangements to come & collect you.

Arriving by Coach
If you are travelling by coach you will arrive at Bournemouth Travel Interchange. Alternatively you can get off the coach at Westbourne (outside the Bingo Hall) on Poole Road. This is about a 15 - 20 minute walk from the Chines Hotel.
