It has always been our dream to own a bed and breakfast and finally after a hard 6 years we completed our dream, building our own bed and breakfast in the beautiful town of Athy. Nearby attractions include the river Barrow famous for its fishing , Kilkenny Castle, Glendalough, Athy Golf Club and much more.

We have decorated all our rooms to create a warm, comfortable and welcoming environment for our guests. All Bedrooms are en suite and tastefully decorated with stained deal floors and golden honey walls. Aurora House has 4 bedrooms all en suite.

Athy Attractions

Today, Athy is a busy town with character. Narrow, busy streets crowded with little shops make this the very essence of the Irish country market town. It is dominated by the well preserved 16th century White’s Castle, a rectangular turreted tower that sits imposingly by the bridge over the river Barrow in the heart of the town, built to protect the inhabitants.

Athy is a designated HERITAGE TOWN OF IRELAND and the Heritage Center focuses on the history of Athy and the surrounding area.

An open air market takes place every Sunday from 10am 'til late afternoon in Wallboard, 2 miles from Athy on the Kilberry road. Every thing from a needle to an anchor can be found at this very popular market.

For all you walkers we have some treats in store for you. On our doorstep we have many country walks e.g. Slieve Bloom, Glendalough, Wicklow Mountains, etc.

Athy which is situated in County Kildare is famous for its Horses , Stud Farms and Race Courses . It is big Horse Country . We are only 30 minutes away from Naas , Punchestown, Gowran Park and Curragh Race Courses. There are many equestrian centres locally to suit all needs.

The Canals and River Barrow in Athy are quite famous for fishing especially around the tiny village of Vicarstown situated only 5 miles away. In Athy Town there is a fishing shop that sells all sorts of baits and equipment .
