A warm friendly welcome awaits you as you enter the Sir William Hotel in Grindleford where "Inn Keeping" is still a tradition! The hospitality afforded to guests at the Sir William Peak District Hotel will ensure that perfect antidote to the stresses of every day modern life. The beauty of the Peak District has many magical moments! This Peak District Hotel is central in the Peaks so you are only a short journey from cities and towns such as Manchester, Stockport, Sheffield, Nottingham, Derby and Chesterfield.

The hotel and village of Grindleford is close to all the major attractions in the Peak District. Such as Padley Gorge, Froggat Edge the Chatsworth Estate and House, Haddon Hall and Hassop Hall. The Hotel is in a central location for exploring the Peak District. Go south from the Sir William Hotel to Buxton, Bakewell, and Chesterfield. Going north will take you to the Hope Valley with the Blue John Caverns, Ladybower Reservoir, Famous for the Dam Busters, and Snake Pass. East from the Sir William Hotel will take you to the City of Sheffield with its Famous Stainless Steel heritage. Restaurants, Bars and Boutiques are now abound and for some serious retail therapy Meadowhall Retail Centre. Finally West from the Sir William Hotel will take you through some spectacular scenery into the Goyt Valley and Stockport.

The Sir William Hotel has Seven Bedrooms in total. Each one is individually decorated, many with period furniture rather that reproduction. Rooms are made availiable from 3pm on the day of arrival.

Most of the hotel bedrooms have panoramic views from the large bay windows overlooking the Hope Valley and Peak District National Park, Giving you a spectacular awakening in the morning.

The Hotel has one twin room one family room with a pull out sofa bed and five doubles. Each room has the usual hotel facilities including an en-suite shower room or bathroom. Trouser press hospitality tray hair dryer and terrestrial televisions.

The Peak District is a mecca for the serious rambler. There are many who state that the Peak District outshines the Lake District for walks and value for money. There are several routes in the area that take you on a spectacular journey through the Peak District with many encompassing Kinder Scout. There are, of course, less strenuous walks that most people would enjoy in the Peak District many of these end at a local hostelry with a welcoming drink and hearty meal.

For the cycling fraternity the Peak District offers routes off road and strenuous to tarmac and gentle. It is ideal for racing and mountain biking alike. The Sir William provides secure overnight storage of bikes, enabling a long and restful sleep after a day touring the Peak District hills and valleys.
