Bed and Breakfast Description |
| |
|
Welcome to Bay Tree House in Southport, a very individual retreat where the warmth and friendliness of hosts Allan, Tom and Sam the Dog is always apparent. Here the guest really does come first and the attention to detail, creature comforts and the whole host of “little extras” are always talking points.
Each of our six bedrooms has it’s own charm and individual décor. All have en-suite facilities, Colour TV, DVD player and small DVD Library, bedside telephone, tea & coffee making facilities (including fruit teas, chocolate etc.), hairdryers, well-stocked mini-fridge, iron, ironing board and clock radio. The Inspector from the AA particularly remarked on how well equipped the accommodation really is.
As a matter of course we provide towelling bath robes, complimentary slippers and a selection of high quality toiletries in every guest room. Wireless broadband internet access is available in all rooms.
We are well-known for our good food lovingly prepared to order from fresh, and whenever possible, local ingredients and presented to a very high standard. Each day starts with a piping-hot specially prepared Breakfast at the time of your choice; there is a small Buffet Table to get you started and we will bring everything else you fancy to your table.
We are located only five minutes walk from a whole host of quality restaurants but occasionally our guests show a preference to "dine-in" and we are very happy arrange this although we do ask you to contact us ahead of your visit or mention this during your stay to allow us to shop and prepare accordingly.

B&B Location
|

Irving Street is a small road just off the promenade and tucked along Leicester Street between the turnings for Knowsley Road and Avondale Road. Leicester Street links the promenade and Lord Street. Guests not too familiar with Southport need to know that the promenade runs alongside the Marine Lake with a separate coast road running along the seafront.
If you are flying here... The nearest airports are Manchester and Liverpool (each about one hour's drive away) which both have excellent road and rail links with Southport
If you are travelling to Southport by road... We recommend the following routes -
From the South, via the M6 to exit 26; the M58 takes you to Ormskirk and then to Southport.
From the North, via the M6 to exit 31 and then travel through the centre of Preston and follow the A59 to Southport.
If you are coming by rail or coach... From the South take a mainline train to either Liverpool Lime Street or Wigan North Western.
From Liverpool you need to take an underground train to either Central Station or Moorfields Station where you can get a Northern Line train to Southport (every fifteen minutes most days, every thirty minutes on a Sunday).
If travelling through Wigan you walk across the road to Wigan Wallgate Station and take a local train to Southport. This service is not as frequent but approximately hourly.
From the North you can take the mainline train to Preston but then you need to take a bus or a coach the last 18 miles OR aim for Wigan (see above)
If you are coming by coach you will be brought straight to Lord Street Southport.
