Bed and Breakfast Description

 

Rhiwiau Guesthouse is ideally situated less than 5 minutes from the A55 between Llanfairfechan and Abergwyngregyn. With Bangor and it's University only 15 minutes away and Holyhead and it's Irish ferries only 40 minutes away it is an ideal location to explore North Wales & Snowdonia . Our idyllic setting, 600 feet up in a secluded valley, provides panoramic views overlooking the Menai Straits and Isle of Anglesey and hills, woodland & mountains to the rear. We have been family owned and run since 1972.

Rhiwiau has much to offer its guests Bed and Breakfast, Evening meals, packed lunches or full board. Our aim is to make your stay with us as relaxed and stress free as possible.

Our four bedrooms have en-suite facilities, TV, tea/coffee making facilities and are available as twin,double or family rooms. Single occupancy is available. The accommodation is fully centrally heated with log fires and natural stone features in the lounge and dining room. Wireless internet access available.

This is a non smoking establishment, however, smoking is permitted outside in designated areas.

Excellent home cooking. Local and home grown produce used when ever possible. Vegetarian and special diets can be catered for.

 

Llanfairfechan Attractions

 
The area holds many diverse attractions including castles, National Trust houses, Betws-y-Coed and Snowdonia, marine and bird reserves, golden beaches on Anglesey, beautiful gardens, theatres, water sports, zoos, dry ski slopes, 10-pin bowling, golf, fishing and horse riding.

Several walks start from our door, or why not enjoy a stroll through our 17 acres of woodland and gardens. We provide maps for established routes although we do not offer guided walks.

Llanfairfechan is renowned for its walks which suit all ages and abilities.

Choose a gentle stroll along the 'Cob' by the seashore or walk from Terrace Walk to Three Streams where you will find panoramic views over Aberconwy Bay and Menai Straits to Anglesey. If you prefer more strenuous exercise there are numerous trails in the surrounding hills leading up to the Aber Lake, The Druids Circle and the old Roman Road.

The North Wales Coastal Path is also easily accessible.

Rhiwiau also serves as an ideal base for high level mountain walks up to the Carneddau range, with such challenging peaks as, Tal-y-Fan(2001 ft), Drum(2529ft), Foel Fras(2092 ft), Carnedd Dyfydd (3425ft) and Carnedd Llwelyn (3484ft), all in the Snowdonia National Park.

For walks further afield, the Sherpa and other local bus services combine with the Conwy Valley Railway service from Llandudno Junction as an alternative to using the car. Combined tickets are available. The area contains a number of places of interest including castles, National Trust houses, Betws-y-coed and Snowdonia, marine and bird reserves, golden beaches on Anglesey, beautiful gardens, theatres, water sports, zoos, dry ski slopes, 10-pin bowling, golf, fishing and Horse riding.

From Conwy - A55 take exit 14, at t junction turn right, 50 metres turn left at foot of bridge onto Ffordd Gwyllt. After approx. 1 mile turn right, (signed Rhiwiau guesthouse), keep going to top off hill, (low gear for approx. ? mile), until you come to our car park. Entrance is to the right on the patio

From Bangor - A55 take exit 14, turn right just after brow of bridge onto Ffordd Gwyllt. After approx. 1 mile turn right, (sign Rhiwiau guesthouse) keep going to top off hill, (low gear for approx. ? mile) until you come to our car park. Entrance is to the right on the patio.
