Moelfre Attractions

Moelfre and surrounding areas have many attractions to suit visitors of all tastes.

Moelfre lifeboat is world famous whilst nearby Lligwy has ruins dating back hundreds of years.

Within twenty five miles of Moelfre there are a multitude of castles and historic houses. If going back in time is what you are looking for then we have the lot - historic castles and houses along with some good imitations built by the Victorians.

Just a short walk from Moelfre at Lligwy are an interesting set of ruins - a neolithic burial chamber, a medieval church an an ancient fortified homestead last occupied 16 centuries ago.

North Wales is a mecca for steam railway enthusiasts having some six railways along with the Conwy Valley Railway Museum. Each railway has its own unique characteristics and they are all located in areas of outstanding natural beauty and steeped in history. As well as the railways themselves there are a number of visitor attractions to be seen along their routes - each one is almost a day on its own.

The Seawatch Centre in the small picturesque village of Moelfre is a reminder of Anglesey's rich maritime history and the importance of the ever present sea for the people of the island. Children in particular will marvel at the prospect of climbing aboard a real twentieth century lifeboat, testing the controls and experiencing the invaluable work of the RNLI crew.

Whilst only a small village Moelfre offers a reasonable choice of where to eat:

Laura's Caban on the seafront car park offers a range of drinks and snacks.

The local hostelry is the Kinmel Arms which provides a range of good pub food and refreshments with outside seating for those wishing to admire the sea and mountain views.

Ann's Pantry offers a range of snacks and meals at both lunchtime and evening - sit inside or enjoy the fresh air while you dine in the garden.
