Hairdryers are available in rooms or on request. We're sorry, we do not accept pets. We have on-site parking. There are scenic walks in the surrounding area. Smoking is not permitted in the establishment. All rooms have tea and coffee making facilities.

Bed and Breakfast Description

 

Two bedrooms command a view of the sea, while the third overlooks 1/2 acre of secluded garden.

Parking is available - garage or off-road.

We are ideally situated for cliff walks, sea-fishing and golf, and as a base for exploring the varied attractions of the area.

We are a non-smoking establishment, open all of the year with the exception of Christmas and New Year. Regretfully we cannot accommodate children under 5 or pets.

We offer 3 bedrooms:

1 large double bedded room (superking size bed) with en-suite facilities and sea view (see above picture).

1 twin bedded room with sea view and private bathroom with a bath and shower a few steps along the landing.

1 twin bedded room overlooking the secluded garden, with en-suite facilities.

All the rooms have a washbasin, tea and coffee making facilities, radio alarm clock and hairdryer.

A feature of the Guest House is the range of breakfasts including home made preserves and local and organic food wherever possible.

Guests have the use of a large drawing room furnished in keeping with the period, for watching television, reading and relaxation.

A large selection of books is available.

Guests are at liberty to enjoy the 1/2 acre garden.

 

Deal Attractions

 
The area is rich in historical interest. Caeser landed here, and the remains of a Roman Castle can be seen near Sandwich. Sandwich was once an important port through which the stone from Caen was imported to build Canterbury Cathedral. This small town boasts more Mediaeval buildings per square mile than anywhere else in England.

Canterbury and its Cathedral are 20 miles away. Dover Castle, Deal Castle and Walmer Castle are all worth a visit. Nearby Broadstairs is an attractive seaside resort, noted for its Dickens connections. Quex Park at Birchington has a unique anthropological museum. Deal itself provides many hours of interest with its pier, conservation area and timeball tower.

Travellers from Dover/Canterbury direction take DOVER-DEAL road (A258) at the village of RINGWOULD (just past the 5 Bells pub on the left) turn RIGHT signed KINGSDOWN. Keep on this road for 1 1/2 miles and you are at our door.

Caution, the road is narrow in places. It winds downhill through the village of KINGSDOWN eventually coming parallel to the sea. Pass The Rising Sun Pub and Kitty's Tea Rooms on the right, and we are shortly after on the left.

Look out for our Flagpole and Boards!

Guests without transport arriving at Deal station or Deal South Street coach station. It may be possible to meet you. Otherwise taxis are readily available, or 84A bus from Queenstreet or South Street (hourly before 6pm).

Nearest Airport: Kent International  (11  Miles)

Nearest Railway Station: Walmer  (1.3  Miles)
