Bed and Breakfast Description

 

The Prince Llewelyn is situated on the edge of the village of Aberffraw, once the seat of Prince Llewelyn the Great who ruled the kingdom of Gwynedd in the thirteenth century. There are many sites of historical interest in the immediate area and we are adjacent to a heritage centre with displays and film illustrating these.

Built circa 1838 the B & B has recently been refurbished to a very high standard and offers accommodation with comfortable and spacious bedrooms all with ensuites or private bathroom facilities, and a luxurious guests lounge.

Our aim is to make your stay here a pleasant and enjoyable experience that will enhance your visit to Anglesey and leave you with a longing to return. All our rooms (7 double/twin and 1 single) boast the following:
En suite or private bathroom
Stylishly furnished with ultra comfortable Sealy beds with luxurious bedding
King sized double beds
Flat screen TV`s in all rooms
Tea making facility

Ty Croes Attractions

 
This beautiful corner of Anglesey, with its varied landscapes, is ideal for anyone with an interest in ornithology. The bird watcher will be delighted at the variety of species he will observe including buzzard, kite and hen harrier. Many ducks and geese frequent the lakes and numerous waders forage along the sea shore as the tide ebbs. The derelict mill here in Aberffraw is host to a family of barn owls.

The sportsman is catered for with several quality golf courses on the island, wave surfing at nearby Cable Bay, wind surfing and sailing at Rhosneigr (4 miles), sea and course fishing, and horse riding. There is also a go karting track little more than 5 miles distant.

Several sites of historic interest are located within easy reach of Aberffraw e.g. the "church in the sea" Llangwynfan, once part of the mainland but now accessible only at low tide, and the 5000 year old burial chamber known as Barclodiad y Gawres.

The Prince Llewelyn is located just 3 minutes drive from the Anglesey Circuit which has recently been developed and upgraded, and hold regular popular events, both motor car and cycle during most weekends during the year.

Aeroplane enthusiasts can visit nearby RAF Valley, home to the Red Arrows, and watch the jets landing and taking off.

Many family attractions are located on Anglesey and in Snowdonia on the mainland and listed below with their respective web links are just some to whet your appetite.

The Prince Llewelyn, located on the B4080 4 miles off the A55 and 21 miles from Bangor, is an ideal base for exploring the many attractions on the Island, and Snowdonia only 25 miles away on the mainland.

The ferry port of Holyhead, with regular services to the Republic of Ireland is 14 miles to the north.
