There are plenty of local walks which take you around the Hall and is at the gateway to the Peak District National Park and only 6 miles from Alton Towers.
Modernised in 2006 to the highest of standards including re-roofing, re-configuration, re-wiring, re-plumbing and re-decoration, the Hall offers the highest standard of accommodation.
We offer Country House Accomodation on a Bed & Breakfast basis within the Hall’s North Wing and we have planning consent to develop the outbuildings into 5 Holiday Lets.

I am sure, like me, you have stayed in places where the accommodation does not look anything like the pictures or description in the brochure. We have done everything we can to ensure accuracy by using more pictures and fewer words. What you see is what you get.
We look forward to welcoming you to Mayfield Hall in the near future. |

Ashbourne Attractions |
| |
The Peak District is home to many National Trust properties boasting some stunning architecture and beautiful grounds.
Amongst those worth a visit are Calke Abbey, Kedleston Hall, Hardwick Hall, Sudbury Hall and the Museum of Childhood. In addition to these, Chatsworth House has more than 30 richly decorated rooms, a glorious garden with fascinating waterworks, a farmyard and woodland adventure playground. Haddon Hall, a Medieval and Tudor manor house, is situated close to the popular market town of Bakewell.
Local attraction include, The well dressings an ancient craft thought to have originated from Pagan times as a ritual performed to give thanks for the supply of fresh water. Mayfield has 3 wells which are dressed each year. Alton Towers is a great family day out, and is only a 10 minute drive from Mayfield Hall.
In the Peak District National Park beneath the stunning scenery is a landscape which is entirely different. Crystal formations, historic rope works, an 18th century lead mine and an underground wonderland of stalactites and stalagmites are all hidden in the caves of the Peak District.
The old Victorian holiday destination of Matlock Bath is 30 minutes drive. Here you will find Masson Mills, the finest surviving and best preserved example of one of Arkwright's cotton mills. Also in Matlock is The Heights of Abraham, a cable car ride which allows you to rise high above a dramatic limestone gorge.Peak Rail will take you on a journey back in time for a nostalgic train ride between Matlock and Rowsley.
The Peak District itself is the perfect playground for walkers, cyclists, nature lovers and adrenalin junkies. If you are looking for active adventure, there's a huge range to choose from including walking, cycling, climbing, water sports, and paragliding, plus many activity centres where you can have a taster session or activity break. |
