The Cottage is run by the owner Helen who strives to make the Guest House a warm and friendly atmosphere for all her Guests. The property built in the late 17 century, was originally four cottages and has bean sympathetically altered to 7 letting bedrooms consisting of 4 en suite and 3 with shared bathrooms. There is a small Guest kitchen with microwave and fridge in it for those who wish to use it. There is plenty of car parking behind the premises leading on to a spacious garden which our guests are very welcome to enjoy. We are within walking distance of several Pubs, Restaurants, Super markets and Take a ways. In the Village there are several Churches. Church of England, Methodist Chapel and Catholic Churche. A Museum, Library, Art Gallery, Aero Park, Village Hall, local Cricket & Football matches, Clay Shooting, many walks in open country side, children’s play area and Spital Park for the older children. Fishing and Bird watching are can be found nearby. Calk Abbey ( National Trust )and Staunton Harold within 10 minutes drive. Nottingham Sherwood Forest, Alton Towers, Ashbourne, The Peak District, Bakewell, Chatsworth House and Matlock are about 40 minutes drive. We are just 5 minutes drive from all Major Routes, M1 M42 A50 leading to M6. Outside the Guest House a bus stop with 24hour service to EMA ( 7 minutes )and local villages and towns. e.g. Long Eaton, Diseworth, Long Whatton, Coalville, Derby and Nottingham. The buses also pass Donington Park Race Circuit only 3 minutes away, about 20 minutes walk. National Express Buses run from the EMA. Several railway Stations, - East Midlands Parkway and Long Eaton both 10mins away. Derby Midland railway station on bus route 20mins away. Also Nottingham about 25mins away.
